San Francisco police early Monday morning said they were investigating a homicide in the city’s Mission Terrace neighborhood, where an illegal sideshow had been taking place.

At least one person was dead and two others were injured after shots rang out at about 12:15 a.m. in the area of Mission Street and Ocean Avenue, near where hundreds of people were participating in or watching an illegal sideshow, witnesses told NBC Bay Area.

Police confirmed officers were responding to the scene of a reported sideshow when they found the three shooting victims, but they were uncertain Monday morning if the shooting was related.

According to multiple witnesses, as vehicles were taking turns doing spins and burnouts, several gunshots rang out, and that sent the crowd scrambling.

Officers were seen placing evidence markers next to a gun in the street.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text at tip to TIP411 and start the message with SFPD.
